feel in the Jura era

Yesterday, to spend my holiday time in Bandung, I decided to travel around Bandung. Even though I have been living in Bandung for 3 years, I never really around Bandung to enjoy the tourist destination around Bandung. I am typically a person that can't do something without any goal. Let me give an example. I never go to ITB Jatinangor even though I study in ITB. Why? Because nothing obligates me to go there. But, from my heart, I really want to go there. I can go there just for sightseeing, but I can't.

Back to the main topic, actually I went to Bandung Geology Museum also no one that obligates me except my boring haha Well, Bandung Geology Museum located on Jl. Diponegoro 57 Bandung. To enter Bandung Geology Museum you should pay 2000IDR for a student, 3000IDR for Indonesian citizen, and 10000IDR for nonIndonesian citizen (it is very cheap dear, less than 1USD). The opening hours for Monday until Thursday is 08.00-16.00 Western Indonesia Time and for Saturday and Sunday is 08.00-14.00 Western Indonesia Time (Western Indonesia Time is GMT+7). Ok, I think the general information is enough.

Based on the name 'Geology' you can guess what the museum contains. But don't worry, a lot of tour guide there, So you can enjoy the museum even though you don't have geology background like me.

How lucky I am, when I visit Bandung Geology Museum, some one close to me and my friend. He asks several questions when I was looking at the beautiful purple stone in there and finally, he tells me that he is from major mining ITB and he can guide us (me and my friend). He is good in explanation, he can correlate my major and geology. So the conversation is not soo heavy and we can more enjoy. He also gives us Geology Magazine and some drinks hahaha. Thank you, Mr. Hardi... I can't tell you the review of him explanation because I am not sure about what I remember. Geology is something that very new for me. But in general, I like the museum. Not because I am lucky to find Mr. Hardi but because I like the design of the museum. The touch of science, technology, and art is felt. The multimedia provided by the museum is great. You can find the visualization of formation of earth, history of our ancestor, several wonderful stones, visualization of beginning of life, potential mining stuff in Indonesia with modern display (Fortunately I don't take a picture of that), replica of dinosaurs bone and another animal that I don't know the name, the development of geology from prehistory until this era, geology disaster, and many more.

Mr. Hardi tells that the museum stuff in the display is just around 20% that actually the museum has. And then I asked, why don't you show all of them? The answer is for the annual exhibition. Besides that, the scientist also always re-search the geology around Indonesia to give something new for the museum. Now, they are searching the something in East Indonesia and also cooperate with foreigner geologist. The Bandung Geology Museum also organize the Merapi Volcano Museum in Jogjakarta.

The gorgeous stone

How lucky you are if you meet him there
